What will drive the future TV experience

We explore the type of platform that is needed to deliver a best-in-class TV experience and monetise it during the 2020s, focusing on how to deploy quickly, update even faster, and ensure that TV product owners lead the evolution of a Pay TV or streaming service on a day-to-day basis, without constant reference to engineering. You will hear how the UX moves from being a shop window to a sophisticated, data-led engagement engine that can be constantly optimised to maximise value to both viewer, service provider and content partners. Nick Thexton will talk us through the next radical shift in delivery architectures as more of the processing associated with apps ecosystems and the aggregation of streamed content is moved from device to the network. Finally, we consider one of the fastest ways to suck new revenue into this super-agile environment, after a landmark study commissioned by Synamedia showed that users of pirate services will seek legitimate outlets – both D2C and Pay TV – if their pirate services are disrupted.
